Zostrix HP is a topical analgesic cream for the symptomatic management of diabetic neuropathy pain and relief of neuralgia following Herpes Zoster infections (post-herpetic neuralgia) after open skin lesions have healed.
Zostrix HP cream contains capsaicin (0.075%) as active ingredient, a naturally occurring substance found in plants of the Solanaceae family. Zostrix HP cream has a topical analgesic effect. It is thought that it works by reducing levels of a chemical (substance P), which is involved in transmitting pain impulses to the brain.

Adults and children 2 years of age and older: Apply Zostrix HP to affected area 3 to 4 times daily. Zostrix HP may cause temporary burning on application. This burning is observed more frequently if Zostrix HP is used less than 3 times a day.

Zostrix HP may cause temporary burning on application. This burning is observed more frequently if Zostrix HP is used less than 3 times a day. Unless treating hands, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after application. See package insert for patient information. Store below 25oC
